  • 1 medium Onion Caramelize slowly for maximum flavor.
  • 2 cups Spinach Try substituting with kale or Swiss chard if desired.
  • ¼ cup Nutritional Yeast Optional but recommended for that savory kick.

For Serving

  • 1 cup Marinara Sauce Choose a thick, well-seasoned version to avoid sogginess.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Mix warm water, yeast, and a pinch of sugar, letting it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • Combine flour, salt, and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth, then cover and let rise for 1 hour.

Filling

  • In a skillet, sauté onions over low heat for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  • Add garlic and spinach, cooking until wilted, then stir in nutritional yeast for extra flavor.

Assembling

  • Roll out the dough to about ¼-inch thick.
  • Spread the filling evenly on top, then roll tightly into a log.
  • Cut into rolls and place them close together in a greased baking dish.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Let the rolls rise for 20 minutes before baking.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until they turn golden brown and delightful.

Cooling & Serving

  • Allow the rolls to cool for a few minutes.
  • Drizzle with extra marinara sauce if desired.
