For the Sauce

  • 2 cups Beef Stock Rich base for the sauce.
  • ¼ cup Soy Sauce Swap with tamari for gluten-free.
  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar Can substitute honey or maple syrup.
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil Infuses nutty flavors.
  • 3 cloves Minced Garlic Fresh garlic is essential.

For the Vegetables

  • 16 oz Frozen Broccoli Florets Convenient option for nutrition.

For Thickening

  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch Mix with cold water to prevent lumps.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In your 6-quart slow cooker, combine beef stock, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and minced garlic. Mix well.
  • Thinly slice the beef against the grain. Add the slices to the sauce, ensuring they’re thoroughly coated.
  • Place the lid on the slow cooker and set it to low heat. Cook for about 5 hours, or until the beef is fork-tender.

Cooking

  • While the beef cooks, prepare a cornstarch slurry by whisking the cornstarch with a bit of cold water.
  • Once the beef is ready, sprinkle frozen broccoli florets over the beef mixture. Stir gently.
  • Cover and cook for an additional 30 minutes on low. Stir halfway through.
  • Serve your mouthwatering beef and broccoli over rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds.

Notes

Add broccoli during the last 30 minutes of cooking to keep it bright. Freeze beef for easy slicing. Create a cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce without lumps.
