Instructions
Preparation
On a floured surface, gently flatten the pizza dough. Divide it into 24-30 equal pieces, approximately 1.5 to 2 inches each.
In a medium bowl, mix the melted unsalted butter with minced garlic, finely chopped parsley, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Stir until fragrant and well combined.
Take each piece of dough and dip it into the garlic butter mixture, ensuring every bit is fully coated. Let the excess drip off.
Place the buttered dough pieces into a large mixing bowl containing shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese. Gently toss the pieces to coat them evenly.
On a parchment-lined baking sheet, arrange the butter and cheese-coated dough pieces into the shape of a Christmas tree.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until puffed up and golden brown.
Allow the tree to cool slightly before garnishing with extra fresh parsley or rosemary. Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
Optional: Serve with warm marinara or creamy pesto aioli for dipping. You can assemble the tree a day in advance.
