Instructions
How to Make Chocolate Peppermint Bark
Melt Chocolate: Heat milk chocolate chips in a glass bowl for 1 minute. Stir, then continue heating in 15-second intervals until fully melted and smooth.
Prep Candy Canes: Place candy canes in a Ziploc bag and crush them with a rolling pin. Aim for small, even pieces to sprinkle over the bark later.
Layer Milk Chocolate: Spread the melted milk chocolate evenly on a parchment-lined cookie sheet, smoothing it out. Refrigerate for 10-15 minutes until set and firm.
Melt White Chocolate: In another bowl, combine white chocolate chips with peppermint extract. Melt in the microwave similarly, stirring until silky and smooth.
Add Layers: Carefully spread the melted white chocolate over the set milk chocolate layer, making it even and delightful.
Add Candy Canes: Immediately sprinkle the crushed candy canes on top. Press them in gently for a good stick and refrigerate again for 15-20 minutes.
Break Apart: Once set and at room temperature, lift the bark using the parchment paper and break it into beautiful pieces.
Notes
Consider individually wrapping pieces as gifts; it adds a personal touch during the holiday season.
