  • 1 pound Green Beans Fresh, frozen, or canned options
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Salted or unsalted

For the Glaze

  • ½ cup Brown Sugar Light or dark brown sugar
  • ¼ cup Soy Sauce Gluten-free option available
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Can substitute with minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper

For the Bacon

  • 8-12 slices Bacon Thick-cut for best crunch

Instructions

How to Make Crack Green Beans

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Drain and pat dry any canned beans, or blanch fresh beans in boiling water for 3-4 minutes. Plunge them into ice water to stop cooking.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook 8-12 slices of bacon until crisp. Reserve 1 tablespoon of bacon grease.
  • In the same skillet, combine the reserved bacon grease, melted butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic powder. Stir until smooth.
  • Spread the prepared green beans in the baking dish. Drizzle the glaze over them and sprinkle the crumbled bacon on top.
  • Bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes until bubbly and caramelized.
  • Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy alongside any main dish!

Notes

For an extra flavor twist, add a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes before baking.
