Directions
Peel and slice the apples into even pieces. Combine them in a bowl with cinnamon and half of the caramel sauce, ensuring they're well coated.
Pour the apple mixture into the bottom of your greased crockpot. Spread it out evenly to create a cozy base for the cake layer.
In a separate bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and eggs (or applesauce). Stir until just mixed—lumps are okay!
Spoon the cake mixture over the apple layer in the crockpot. If it looks uneven, that's perfectly fine!
Pour the remaining caramel sauce over the cake layer, letting it drip down into the apple mixture for extra sweetness.
Cover and cook on low for about 3-4 hours, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean but with some gooey pieces.
Carefully ladle portions into bowls, and don’t forget to add a generous scoop of whipped cream or ice cream for the perfect finish!
Notes
Optional: Add a sprinkle of chopped nuts on top for extra crunch!
