Ingredients

Chili Base

  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes opt for low-sodium
  • 1 can Dark Red Kidney Beans can substitute with black or pinto beans
  • 1 cup Chili Sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp Garlic Salt can substitute with fresh minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp Chili Powder adjust to taste or add cayenne pepper
  • 1 lb Ground Beef (80/20 blend) substitute with ground turkey if desired

Optional Toppings

  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 bunch Chopped Green Onions for garnish

Instructions

Cooking Steps

  • Brown the Beef in a skillet over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes, then drain excess fat.
  • Combine the browned beef with diced tomatoes, kidney beans, chili sauce, brown sugar, garlic salt, and chili powder in the crockpot.
  • Set the crockpot to low and cook for 6-8 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Allow the chili to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
