Ingredients

For the Burgers

  • 1 lb ground beef patties
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 black hamburger buns can buy or make using squid ink or cocoa
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese for monster teeth
  • 8 pieces mini mozzarella balls for edible eyes
  • 4 olives for pupils
  • Toothpicks
  • Optional edible eyes candy
  • Lettuce optional
  • Tomato optional
  • Condiments of choice

Instructions

Preparation

  • Season the beef patties with salt and pepper, then form them into burger shapes.
  • Cook the burgers on a grill or stovetop to your desired doneness (medium-rare is recommended).
  • If you have black buns, lightly toast them until warm and a bit crispy.

Cheese and Assembly

  • When the burgers are almost done, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and let it melt slightly.
  • Cut the cheddar into jagged shapes to look like monster teeth and place these along the edges of each patty.
  • To make the eyes, skewer a mozzarella ball with an olive to form a pupil and place on top of the melted cheese.
  • Assemble the burgers starting with the bottom black bun, add lettuce and tomato if desired, then place the patty on top.
  • Finally, add the top bun to complete the Halloween Monster Burgers.

Notes

Serve on a large platter with creepy decorations for a festive display. Customize with different condiments and serve with sides like fries or salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container; they will last for 2-3 days. Reheat in a microwave or stovetop.
