Instructions
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface until about ¼ inch thick. Cut into approximately 30 squares.
Cut mozzarella sticks into about 30 even pieces; place one piece in the center of each dough square.
Roll the dough around each piece of cheese to form tight balls, sealing edges securely.
Arrange dough balls on the baking sheet into a Christmas tree shape, making sure they lightly touch.
Whisk together the egg and a splash of water; brush the mixture over the dough balls.
Bake for 16–18 minutes or until golden brown and aromatic.
While bread bakes, melt butter in a saucepan; add half the grated parmesan, garlic, and fresh herbs.
Once baked, brush the bread with garlic herb butter and sprinkle remaining parmesan on top.
Serve warm with marinara or pesto for dipping.
Notes
Optional: Sprinkle red pepper flakes for a spicy kick. Avoid soggy bread by not overfilling with cheese. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
