How to Make Easy 3 Ingredient Shortbread Cookies

  • Soften butter by letting it sit at room temperature until it's softened.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine softened butter and sugar. Beat for 1-2 minutes until light and fluffy.
  • Gradually add all-purpose flour to the butter and sugar mixture while mixing on low speed. Stop when the dough comes together.
  • Form the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 60 minutes.
  • Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about ¼ to ½ inch thick and cut with cookie cutters.
  • Place cut cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate again while preheating the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until just lightly golden at the edges. Cool on a wire rack.
