Instructions
How to Make Bioplastic Suncatchers
Combine ingredients: In a medium-sized saucepan, mix together ½ cup water, 2 tablespoons cornstarch, 1 tablespoon white vinegar, and 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin. Stir until well combined.
Heat gently: Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring continuously for about 5 minutes until the mixture thickens into a gel-like consistency.
Color the gel: Remove the pan from heat and pour the gel into small bowls. Add your choice of natural or food-safe coloring to each bowl, mixing until you achieve your desired shades.
Spread the gel: Pour the colored gel onto a flat surface like parchment paper, spreading it to create thin layers for quicker drying.
Decorate: While the gel is still wet, sprinkle fine glitter and add pressed flower petals or tissue paper pieces on top.
Dry and remove: Allow the suncatchers to dry completely for a full day in a cool, dry area before peeling them off.
Notes
Ensure to store finished suncatchers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
